American Airlines is planning great growth in its largest center.
The airline and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) announced on Thursday renewed plans for a new $ 4 billion terminal that would bring dozens of new doors, all for Americans, and would serve as the “terminal experience” of the airport.
The new terminal, which is known as F terminal, will be the sixth of DFW.
The new installation was already under construction, after an agreement that Fort Worth headquarters reached with its local airport in 2023.
But Thursday’s announcement brought a considerable review of these plans, pressing the construction timeline and significantly expanding the size of the new installation.
“DFW is the largest and most critical center of Americans, and with this expanded plan for terminal F, DFW has a clear path to become the largest air center in the world,” said American CEO Robert Isom statement announcing the news.
The first phase of terminal F is currently scheduled to open in 2027.
DFW’s new F terminal
The new American DFW terminal will provide the carrier much more door space for wide body airplanes, and will offer more processing capacity for passengers that reach those incoming international flights.
Terminal F will also have dedicated areas for new rooms; The shared representations on Thursday seemed to show the entrance to a new Admiral club.

American Airlines Admirals Club Access: How can you enter the Airport Hall
American Today has six Advanced positions in DFW: five admire clubs and a more premium flagship room.
Construction plans require a new parking lot and an experience of Check-in and reinvented lobby of the airport, in addition to a new Skylink station that would connect more perfectly to customers, Airside, with the existing DFW terminals.
According to the previous F terminal plans, the clients would have taken the Skylink to the terminal E, then they walked towards the new lobby.
The F terminal will also offer a march connection with DFW Terminal, currently its largest international center, and the home of some of the most premium halls of the airport, including a Capital One Lounge and a American Express Centurion Lounge.
The growth of Americans in DFW
American multimillionaire investment in DFW occurs, since it has been more and more supported by its Texas operations base in recent years.
Last year, the airline flew with 33% more DFW seats than a decade earlier, according to data from the Cirium Aviation Analysis firm.
In general, the airport saw almost 60% more seats in all airlines to international destinations last year than 10 years before, in 2014, by Cirio.
Which includes remarkable impulse in connectivity to remote destinations in Asia and the South Pacific, helped, in part, by a service without stopping aboard the partners of the American Oneworld Alliance such as Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Japan Airlines.
This growth is not expected to end: the DFW CEO, Sean Donohue, said in November 2023 that he hoped that passenger traffic in DFW 25% increase for 2030.
More flights and passengers, combined with a growing population in northern Texas, had already inspired large capital projects at the airport, TPG reported last year.
Among them: a facial uprising of $ 3 billion currently in the works of Terminal C, which is currently the United States terminal at the airport.
