The act of real identification will enter into force on May 7.
After that date, US travelers will need an identification that meets the Real id Requirements to go through the security control points of the United States airport, even for national flights. This change aims to establish clearer standards for photographic identifications issued by the Government. The law established a uniform set of safety standards for driving licenses and other identification cards issued by the Government.
The most important thing is that it prohibits government agencies from accepting identification that does not meet the new standards. One of the objectives was to add an additional layer of safety to commercial aviation making it more difficult for people to obtain false documents and use them to address airplanes.

If you have not received a new state identification in the last year or so, you probably do not have a real identification.

Fortunately, you can avoid a trip to the DMV and use these other forms of Acceptable identification at TSA control points without risking the privileges of your flight after May 7.

Global input cards meet all the requirements for real identification, since they are DHS traveler cards. So, it is clear if you don’t want to obtain a new state identification and have a global entry. (The same goes for other DHS traveler cards, including Nexus, Sentri and Fast).

Passport passport or card
You can also use your passport or passport card as a real identification. Obtaining a passport card requires additional fee, but you can request one when you request or renew your passport book. In the form, simply select that you want both documents.
A passport card can be especially useful since it is the size of a normal identification. However, it is only a valid form of identification to travel within the United States and the entrance of land and sea to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and some Caribbean countries. (A passport book for international air trips is still required).
