“The opening of JW Marriott Crette Resort & Spa marks a moment of milestone for the brand with its entrance to Greece,” said Bruce Rohr, vice president and leader of the global brand for JW Marriott, in a press release. “This extraordinary property captures the essence of the JW Marriott brand, combining a warm and intuitive service with serene and carefully designed spaces that invite guests to be present and really connected.
Each of the 160 rooms, suites and villas of this Mediterranean beach complex presents panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, a natural design aesthetic that combines with the resistant coast and a shaded terrace. Several rooms also have private swimming pools of which guests can absorb sea views.
The general design of the complex incorporates natural materials and sustainability in many forms, including geothermal and solar energy systems, heat recovery from hot water and the use of treated gray water for irrigation.
The hotel also has four swimming pools, including a pool only for adults and a family pool. For the latest in relaxation, guests can visit Anoseas Spa, a full service spa that presents “traditional Cretan cure rituals with modern immersive therapies,” according to the press release.

Guests can also visit Suncti by the pool; Eexis for wine, cocktails and light dishes; and the JW Market Cafe. The six gastronomic concepts use the exclusive JW Garden of the brand, which offers its own harvest herbs and vegetables to the complex restaurants.
