Of course, the value you will get from the benefit will depend on how often you redeem IHG points for stays of four nights or more and how many points the properties you stay at typically charge, but this benefit has potentially significant value. So, here’s what you need to know about IHG’s 4th Night Free benefit.
What is the benefit of IHG’s 4th night free?
IHG’s 4th Night Free benefit is available with select IHG credit cards. Through this benefit, you can earn a fourth night free on standard room award night stays of four nights or more.
Therefore, when you redeem IHG points for a stay of four consecutive nights or more, you will pay zero points for each fourth night of your stay.
On a four- to seven-night stay, you’ll pay zero points for the fourth night and standard room reward rates for the other nights. But on an eight- to 11-night stay, you would pay zero points for the fourth and eighth nights.
There is no limit to the number of zero point nights per stay, or the number of times you can use the 4th night free benefit within a calendar year.

If you have the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Cardhe IHG One Rewards Traveler Credit Card or the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit CardYou’ll automatically earn your fourth free reward night when you redeem points for a standard room award night stay of four nights or more. Simply log into your IHG account on the website or app and search for an award stay of four or more nights.
For each result, you’ll see a per-night award rate, as well as the strike-through price you’d have to pay if you didn’t have access to IHG’s fourth-night free benefit.
Click “Select Hotel” to see the room types available at that rate. For each room type, you’ll also see some non-discount points and cash options.
If you click the “i” next to “Reward Nights” and then click the caret next to the total points cost, you’ll be able to see a night-by-night points breakdown.
