If you have been considering applying for Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees), now may be the perfect time. Chase is targeting select consumers with its highest welcome offer yet of 175,000 points, and there’s an easy way to check if you qualify.
Chase has reintroduced a pre-approval tool that allows potential applicants to answer a few quick questions and see if they are eligible for a welcome offer. It works similar to American Express Prequalification Tool.
Here’s what you need to know.
Verify The Chase Prequalification Tool to see if you’re eligible to receive a 175,000-point bonus (after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening) at the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Chase Prequalification Tool Overview
The Chase Prequalification Tool allows customers to answer a few questions and receive a list of cards they prequalify for.
After answering a few questions, Chase performs a soft query no impact on your credit score and then shows the cards you are eligible for.
From there, you can choose to continue with a full application, which will trigger a hard research. Not everyone will qualify for every card, but the tool will show you alternatives you may be eligible for.

What cards are in the tool?
The following cards are currently included in the pre-approval tool:
Freedom Rise and Slate Edge information has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

The pre-approval tool features a high welcome offer only for Sapphire Reserve. Eligible applicants who complete the process may see an offer of 125,000 points (which is the standard welcome bonus and includes identical spending requirements of $6,000 in the first three months) or the elevated offer of 175,000 points. There are no intermediate options.
Why use the tool?
The main reason to use this tool is to check if you qualify for the elevated Chase Sapphire Reserve offer. Other cards included in the tool do not include high welcome offers, so applicants will only see the standard public offerings.
If you’re not interested in the Sapphire Reserve, the tool still allows you to confirm eligibility for other Chase cards without risking extensive research.

In a nutshell
Before applying for a Chase card, consider using the pre-approval tool to see what you might qualify for. It helps you avoid unnecessary extensive research and can unlock Chase’s highest offer on the Sapphire Reserve, which could be worth tens of thousands of extra points.
Even if you’re not looking for the Sapphire Reserve, you can still use the tool to confirm your eligibility for other cards before submitting an application. Many consumers will find this a useful addition to the Chase site.
