4 surprises about the new American Airlines ‘Premium’ Dreamliner


As a frequent steering wheel and an elite member of Aadvantage for a long time, I have followed the plans of American Airlines for a Premium Dreamliner since then They were filtered in 2022. I tried both Chaise Lounge options in a flagship suite and it didn’t seem particularly comfortable. As such, although I hope that most travelers do not realize that the Chaise Hall is an option, I also believe that even those who know do not use it for a long time. That said, more options to get and stay comfortable on long distance flights are positive in my book, so I applauded American for trying something different.

Premium economy seat design

I was particularly interested in seeing the cabin of the premium economy in the new 787-9p of American, since it is realistic where I will probably fly more miles in this type of plane. Many premium economy seats have a restraint or a restraint, but not both. So, I was surprised to see both on this plane, even in the top seats. The rests are customizable so that they can configure them depending on their height and their desired knee curve.

Severe Lack of Additional Cabin Cabin

But perhaps what surprised me the most while crossing American Airlines 787-9P is the extreme lack of additional main cabin seats.

Like a AADVANTAGE PLATINUM PRO Elite member, I can select additional main cabin seats when booking economic tickets. But, since there are only 18 additional seats of the main cabin, I hope these seats are filled quickly. The seats of the mini -bind economy are a mixed bag

Between the premium economic seats and the large economic cabin there is a small economic section of two to three rows with nine additional seats of the main cabin (denoted by the brown headrest) and 12 economic seats. What I found particularly interesting about this minicabine is that it contains the best and worse economic seats that you can select. For example, row 21 has more than one inch more tone in the seats D, E and H than any other seat that is not headed in the economic cabin. These three seats have 32 1/2 inches of tone, while each other economic seat has 31 inches. As such, 21D or 21H will be my choice seat in economics if other passengers have already selected all the additional window and corridor seats of the main cabin.

On the other hand, seats A, B, C, L, H and K in row 22 are more than one inch narrower than any other economic seat. This width decrease is probable because Americans needed to expand the halls before the four bathrooms that separate this small section from the main economic cabin. Unless it is smaller than the average, I recommend avoiding these seats since the diminished width is remarkable.

The new American Airlines 787-9P looks very good and includes the first executive class seats of American with a closing door. But, although many travelers want to fly in executive class, most of us will fly in Economics or Premium economy. After all, especially if you are redeeming American miles For their flight, rates are often reasonable in Economics and Economics Premium, but high in the executive class.

You can exchange American miles for business class improvements when there is space available. Thus it is likely that it will eventually fly in the new badge suite product.
