What to buy with your Amex Platinum Saks credit before it expires

With perks like elite hotel status and access to airport lounges, the American Express Platinum® Card is one of TPG’s favorite cards for frequent travelers.

That’s not all. The card also offers additional statement credits on top of travel benefits, enhancing its value and offsetting the $895 annual fee (see rates and fees).

For example, you can get up to $100 in Saks Fifth Avenue Statement Credits It is awarded every calendar year: the first up to $50 from January to June and the other up to $50 in the second half of the year. (Registration is required).

This use-it-or-lose-it credit resets twice a year, meaning December is your last chance to use your credit for the last half of the year, if you haven’t already.

You can get even more value by shopping through one of the shopping portals that offer bonus cash or points on Saks purchases. At the moment, Rakuten offers 2% cash back on Saks purchases, and some airline shopping sites also offer mileage bonus awards for Saks purchases.
