Travelers who don’t want to deal with the hassle of long security lines can now use the Transportation Security Administration’s expedited screening program at even more airports in the U.S. and its territories.
The TSA added these two airlines to its TSA Precheck Tuesday program:
- Caribbean Airlines
- red air
This means 104 airlines Now participate in the time saving program.
TSA PreCheck allows passengers flying with these airlines to forgo the arduous process of removing their shoes and removing laptops and liquids from their luggage at airport security. This can dramatically speed up your security experience.
Each of the newly added airlines is the flagship airline of its respective country. This expansion gives travelers heading to European, Oceanic or African countries even more opportunities to quickly pass through US airport security before departing.
Caribbean Airlines flies from Toronto, New York, Miami, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale to various Caribbean destinations such as Bahamas, Martinique, Jamaica and Cuba. Red Air is a charter airline with flights from Miami to the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
TSA PreCheck is available in more than 200 US airports and one Customs and Border Protection preclearance foreign airport, Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau, Bahamas.
The expedited screening program has become increasingly popular among travelers and has more than 18 million passengers enrolled. In May 2023, the TSA will also expanded the program to allow teens ages 13 to 17 to accompany a parent or guardian already enrolled in TSA PreCheck.

Despite the growing popularity of TSA PreCheck, the current chaos of busy travel periods, and the delays and cancellations that come with them, the agency has still kept wait times low for the expedited screening program. Approximately 99% of travelers enrolled in TSA PreCheck spend 10 minutes or less at security checkpoints.
Priced as low as $78, a five-year TSA PreCheck membership is open to travelers who are U.S. citizens. You can renew TSA PreCheck six months before your membership expires, and five-year renewals cost $70. Members of other Trusted Traveler programs such as Global Entry and SENTRI are also eligible for TSA PreCheck.
There are several ways to get TSA PreCheck without having to pay for the program out of pocket. Certain credit cards offer Statement credits that will cover the TSA PreCheck application fee and reimburse travelers once they enroll in the program and when they renew their memberships.

Once enrolled in TSA PreCheck, flyers receive a Known traveler number indicating your eligibility for the program. Travelers can then apply that number to flight bookings with participating airlines at select airports and avoid long security lines. Now, more travelers than ever can benefit from this time-saving program.
