Delta is doubling down on Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The airline has announced plans to soon open its second Delta One Lounge at the airport, meaning LAX will be the only hub (so far) with two of the airline’s sleek international business class lounges.
The new Delta One Lounge at LAX will be in Terminal 2, while the Existing Delta One lounge at LAX is in Terminal 3. Delta operates from both terminals, which are connected airside in one large operating center.
The existing Delta One lounge offers a private check-in entrance in Terminal 3, where passengers can pass through a dedicated Transportation Security Administration checkpoint before taking an elevator directly to the lounge entrance several levels above. Presumably the experience will be similar in Terminal 2.
While details are still scarce, the new Delta One Lounge at LAX Terminal 2 promises its own private check-in area, complete with a security checkpoint and direct transportation to the lounge and a premium dining experience when it opens, although this will just be the opening sentence. A permanent, completely renovated Delta One lounge will open in 2028 in the airline’s former lounge in Terminal 2.
The move comes as part of Delta’s increased focus on LAX as a hub, including the planned launch of new nonstop service from LAX to Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) on June 6 and from LAX to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) on June 7. The airline also announced plans to open a new Sky Club in LAX Terminal 2 in 2027.
Both the new Delta One Lounge and Sky Club are part of a major infrastructure investment at the city’s airport ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, during which Delta will be the official airline of Team USA.

Curiously, the airline still does not have a Delta One Lounge at its megacenter in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (although one is currently in the works).
As for the amenities of the new Delta One Lounge at LAX, the airline has not yet shared details. However, the existing lounge at LAX (as well as other Delta One Lounge outposts) offers a la carte dining and bars offering specially created signature cocktails. The JFK location has its own showers, although the others share showers with the adjacent Sky Clubs. Some salons have relaxation and wellness areas with massage chairs (although spa services are not offered).
Both the Delta One Lounge and Delta’s massive Sky Club at LAX also have spacious outdoor terraces overlooking the runway. So maybe plane spotters will get another place to watch takeoffs and landings.
Delta One Lounge Access
Now the big question: Who will be able to access the new room once it opens?
Unfortunately, carry a premium credit card It won’t help you. Instead, you will have to be one of the following:
- A traveler flying on a Delta One flight departing or arriving on the same day
- Delta 360 Member by Invitation Only departing or arriving with a same-day Delta first class ticket
- A traveler departing on a same-day or connecting flight on select partners in the following cabins: Air France La Premiere, Air France Long-Haul Business Class, LATAM Premium Business Class, KLM Long-Haul Business Class, Korean Air First Class and Prestige Class, and Virgin Atlantic Premium Class

Delta will bring a sleek second Delta One Lounge to LAX sometime in 2027, ahead of the 2028 Olympics. That’s great news for travelers departing from the airline’s increasingly important hub on the West Coast, and should alleviate some crowding issues at the airline’s existing lounges at LAX.
