
Airport hotels can be a blessing or a curse…it depends on why you’re there, right? On the positive front, an airport hotel could be a much-needed respite between long international flights or a place to call home the night before an early morning departure. On the other hand, sometimes one reluctantly ends up in an airport hotel due to stressful delays or cancellations.
Whatever your reason for booking one, not all airport hotels are created equal. And some of the best airport hotels are located in major international airports around the world.
Here’s a look at some of TPG’s favorites, from the crown jewel, Crown Plaza at Singapore’s extraordinary Changi Airport (SIN), to a soundproofed Fairmont whose motto is “where scale meets luxury,” and many others in between.

Hilton Munich Airport — Munich, Germany
A hotel just steps from airline check-in counters and one with a Michelin-starred restaurant on site? You’ll find this traveler’s dream come true at Munich International Airport (MUC). Sure, come enjoy the comfortable rooms and a relaxing place to recharge, but stay a little longer for a meal at Mountain Hub Gourmet, followed by a drink under the imposing atrium of the Nightflight Bar.
And if you need to sit somewhere a little more formal for a business call, you can check in to the Executive Lounge (with Hilton Honors Diamond or Diamond Reserve status or select room types). If that’s not enough to tempt you, there’s a spa with an indoor pool, day-use rooms for quick trips, and meeting and event spaces. And for what it’s worth, more than a few TPG staff members mentioned this hotel as one of their favorites.

Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle — Zurich, Switzerland

Just steps from Zurich Airport (ZRH), this Swiss-focused Hyatt Regency is a great place to rest up before a flight from Switzerland’s largest airport. There, guests can stay in totally relaxing rooms that face the park and have floor-to-ceiling windows, something that is not the norm in a typical airport hotel. There’s even a Regency Club for elite members with access for people who book a club-level room or suite. If you can’t get into the lounge, there’s still a Lebanese restaurant and bar at the hotel, plus other high-end perks like a sauna to help you relax before you leave.

Vancouver Fairmont Airport — Vancouver, British Columbia
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is one of Canada’s legendary hotel companies and makes no exceptions when it comes to airport hotels. At Fairmont Vancouver Airport, an in-airport property located above gates E, small differences go a long way. Think soundproof windows to ensure a restful night’s sleep, a restaurant with panoramic views, and wellness-focused experiences like pools, saunas, and a 24-hour gym. In fact, you don’t even have to stay at the Fairmont to take advantage of their gym; Three-hour passes are available for $30.
Rates in Vancouver Airport starts from $250 per night. Accor Live Limitless members (ALL) can redeem points for a flat rate worth about 2 cents each.
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport — Singapore

A legend among airport hotels, the Crown Plaza Changi Airport, located in Terminal 3 of Changi Airport (SIN), is an easy place to rest your head in one of the world’s best airports. With 575 rooms and suites, the hotel is huge and offers everything from an outdoor swimming pool to a club lounge with buffet-style dining. Even better, the hotel is easily connected to the airport terminals and the airport’s indoor waterfall Jewel experience, something no traveler passing through Singapore should miss.

Hilton Rome Airport

To get between the Hilton Rome Airport and Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport (FCO), guests don’t even have to walk, because moving walkways along a covered path will take you there. Once inside the hotel, great things await, including an indoor pool, an all-day restaurant with Italian and international cuisine, and elegant rooms perfect for catching a few hours of sleep between flights.

Oryx Airport Hotel — Doha, Qatar
At Hamad International Airport (DOH), there is no better place to stay than the Oryx Airport Hotel, located above the Hermes store in the airport’s South Plaza. Convenience is key at this hotel, and the location alone makes it a winner for getting around Doha. But everything else is what will make you want to come back, like an indoor pool, a fantastic gym, a spa, squash courts and even virtual golf. Another big plus is that room service is available 24/7, so no matter what time you get to your room, you won’t have to worry about being hungry.

Hilton Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Housed in an imposing building of avant-garde design next to Amsterdam’s bustling Schiphol Airport (AMS), this hotel is easily accessible via a covered walkway. Inside, guests will find elegant rooms, many of which overlook the interior courtyard; a spa with treatment services, sauna, steam room and swimming pool; and a great restaurant and a nice cocktail bar. Best of all, you can book a stay with Hilton Honors Points.

Sheraton Gateway Hotel — Toronto, Canada

Several TPG employees endorsed the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Located right in Terminal 3, the team was quick to note that the property features comfortable rooms and a very robust club lounge for those with access. For TPG editor-in-chief Nick Ewen, renting rooms was a blessing after managing flight cancellations. and a sick child. Not to mention, the hotel has a heated indoor pool, a gym, a lounge restaurant, and room service.

Hilton Frankfurt Airport

Another Hilton favorite among TPG staff, the Hilton Frankfurt Airport is a convenient stay for people passing through Frankfurt. Connected to the airport via a covered pedestrian bridge, the hotel features contemporary rooms (including connecting rooms perfect for families), an executive lounge for eligible guests (including buffet breakfast), and a few other bars and restaurants on site.
