With this card, you’ll earn 4 points per dollar spent on your top two spending categories each billing cycle (up to $150,000 each calendar year, then 1 point per dollar spent).
Amex will automatically determine your top two business expense categories each month using all posted account transactions that fall into the six categories:
- Monthly charges for wireless service made directly from a wireless service provider in the US.
- Purchases from US media providers for advertising in select media (online, radio, television)
- Transportation purchases, including buses, ferries, parking lots, ride-hailing services, subways, taxis, tolls, and trains.
- American purchases at gas stations
- American restaurant shopping, including takeout and delivery
- US purchases from electronics retailers and software and cloud system providers
Cardholders also earn 3 points for every dollar spent on booked prepaid flights and hotels at amextravel.com or on the Amex Travel App™.

Statement Credits
In addition to its business-friendly bonus categories, Amex Business Gold offers these benefits:
- Up to $240 in statement credits annually (up to $20 per month) for eligible US purchases at FedEx, Grubhub and office supply stores^
- Up to $155 in statement credits annually (up to $12.95 per month plus applicable taxes) for a monthly Walmart+ membership (subject to automatic renewal; Plus Ups not eligible)^
