American Airlines has confirmed that, as part of its new exclusive agreement with CITI, applications for the AADVANTAGE® AVIATOR® Red World Elite MasterCard® They have been eliminated and the Barclays Aviator portfolio will eventually be made to CITI in 2026.
“We are proud to develop our 38 -year -old card association with CITI by appointing them as our exclusive issuer of our Cobrandended Aadvantage® credit card portfolio in the United States from 2026,” said a spokesman for American Airlines to TPG in a written statement.
The airline will completely transition from the American Airlines to Citi credit card program in 2026 and no longer accepts requests for new Avantage Barclays aviator cards.

Barclays used to have several cards under his AADVANTAGE AVIATOR PORT. However, only one was recently available for the new applicants: the Aadvantage Aviator Red. That is no longer.
