American Airlines passengers can now use Aadvantage miles for purchases on board
Loyal American Airlines passengers can now use their Aadvantage miles for flight purchases on all flights, expanding the option throughout the airline network.
The new policy, which entered into force on Tuesday, will allow travelers to exchange miles from Aadvantage for flight purchases on all regional flights, American Airlines confirmed to TPG. Previously, loyal travelers could only use their miles to buy items on main flights.
“We are continuously looking for ways to improve the travel trip for our customers and we are delighted to expand this new improvement to all flights,” American wrote in a statement shared with TPG.
The points can be used to buy alcoholic beverages (such as beer, wine and liquor) on national flights of more than 250 miles and snacks on some flights of more than 1,100 miles, According to the airline. To use miles, travelers must ensure that their advantage is attached to their reservation, and must have their shipping pass ready to pay.
The cost of the articles varies, but some examples are:

- Bud Light, two equis and truly hard Hard Sectzer for $ 9 or 900 miles
- Goose Ipa or Heineken for $ 10 or 1,000 miles
- A fruit and cheese dish for $ 11 or 1,100 miles

- A box of tostitous snacks for $ 7 or 700 miles
- Ranch Doritos Cool bag for $ 5 or 500 miles
