Delta Air Lines will launch the first beginning of South America from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).
On December 4, Skyteam Alliance Carrier will offer a daily flight from the capital of Utah to the Jorge Chávez International Airport (Lim) in Lima, Peru, until January 25, 2026, Delta saying Friday. The airline will operate the new route with a Boeing 767-300ER.
Delta’s new Salt Lake City-Lima Route will make it easier for south travelers to visit the many wonders of Peru, from Machu Picchu to the Amazon jungle, and for visitors to the north to enjoy the Utah mountains and national parks.

But as exciting as both destinations, the route deepens the connections between Delta and its South American partner, Latam. Lima is the second largest center in LATAM for exits and Salt Lake City is the fourth largest programming data of Delta of the Cirium aviation analysis firm. “This new route is a significant milestone for Delta and our customers in Salt Lake City and in all Mountain West,” said Paul Baldoni, senior vice president of network planning at the airline, in a statement. “With this extended connectivity through our Salt Lake City center, we are proud to offer a faster and more convenient way to reach Lima and other important cities in South America.”
Salt Lake City airport officials estimate that the route will open 30 new unique destinations in South America to local travelers.
Delta and Latam launched their association In 2022. The pact allows them to coordinate everything from routes and schedules to air rates, and sells tickets together for flights.
Since their association debuted, Delta and Latam have added seven new routes between the United States and South America, the Cirium schedules show. They include flights from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Bogotá, Colombia and the Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL) in Santiago, Chile; From the Los Angeles International Airport (Lax) to São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (Gru); and from the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Galeoo International Airport (Concert) in Rio de Janeiro.
