For those who call North America their home and enjoy the finest things in life (and in the air), they are in luck: Cathay Pacific has just launched the first American route for its luxurious product Aria Suite.
This month, the brand announced that it would launch three return flights per week, starting June 5, from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in British Columbia to Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). The flights of the carrier on the route have ARIA Suites, as well as new premium economy seats and standard seats renewed in the economy.
This is the third long distance route of Cathay Pacific for the new Aria Suite product, after its introduction in the carrier’s London services to Hong Kong and Sydney to Hong Kong.
He Deiac class experience debut of Aria Suite In October 2024, in the then new Boeing 777-300er plane of Cathay Pacific, it was the largest update of the brand’s executive class product in more than a decade, which indicates a significant step in the evolution of the airline.
“We are proud to continue with our commitment to offer an incomparable level of comfort and convenience by carrying our highly anticipated Aryan suite to our American clients,” said Chris Van Den Hooven, senior vice president of the Airline’s Americas, in a statement. “A little over 40 years ago, Vancouver was our first long -distance passenger route between North America and Hong Kong. We are delighted to present the Aryan suite to the Americas through Vancouver, demonstrating even more the importance of the region for Cathay Pacific.”
So how is the 13 1/2 -hour trip from Vancouver to Hong Kong in the comfort of an Aryan suite? Fortunately, TPG was one of the first points of sale to try this new route for the product. Here is an internal look at Aria Suite’s experience from Vancouver to Hong Kong.
At the airport
Cathay Pacific’s check-in counter in YVR is at the international terminal at the exit level 3. Travelers can register up to four hours before their scheduled departure.
Aria’s suite passengers will enjoy a priority check-in, two bags recorded up to 70 pounds each, access to the living room (Cathay Pacific halls and Oneworld couple rooms) and priority approach. In YVR, Aria Suite passengers can go directly to the elegant Cathay Pacific Lounge to relax before boarding.

Since my June 8 flight left just after 1 in the morning, I arrived at the airport around 9:30 pm to maximize my time in the highly respected hall of the airline (located in Gate D70). There, I had to get at least one bowl of the famous noodles Dan Dan Dan, who were highly recommended of all those who have known that they have passed through any Cathay Pacific hall. (I can confirm that they are delicious and are an ideal preplexing snack).

The Hall has the Signature Noodle Bar (you can guess where I spent most of my time), as well as several spacious seat areas with several configurations of comfortable armchairs, separated from the dining room by a series of attractive windows with panels. There is even a small room called “The Bureau”, equipped with computers and Apple desktop printers for those interested in being especially productive. In addition, there is a space to store the luggage, and you will find several shower suites with ESAAP’s premium toiletries.
Product on board
As for the “product”, or the real seat, the Aryan Suites of Cathay Pacific, each of which is a 78-inch reclining reclining seat that has 21 inches wide, are configured in a 1-2-1 design.
Like the other products of Aria Suite that TPG has reviewed (such as The London Route to Hong Kong), The suites have an enveloping seat design with a door that slides closed for maximum privacy. Reflective touches such as soft leather headrests and a wool lined wool beds create an exceptionally comfortable experience, and high -tech characteristics, including wireless telephone load and an elegant interface of control of touch screen seats, means that entertainment, work and sleep are easy options during the flight.

Speaking of technology, guests can wait to navigate a wide range of films and television programs on a 24 -inch touch screen television. (Bluetooth headphones connection is an option, but each suite is equipped with a cable headphones set for those who need them). I also enjoyed the ability to explore where in the world we were with the interactive map.
The touch screen allows passengers to verify which bathrooms are open at a given time. Along the right side of the seat, the guests will find another small touch screen that allows you to control the seat that goes up and down, as well as the lights, ask for help and watch how much flight time is on the trip.

A lot of storage space means that it is easy to save books, wallets and small items inside the suite, while larger luggage pieces can go in the upper container (each suite has its own).

I did not waste time by checking the leather bag full of Bamford’s sweets, as well as a dental kit, a eye mask that says “plane mode” (cute) and a game of caps for the ears. There are also cozy shoes that await you in your suite.
Dinner on board
Faithful to the form, Cathay Pacific really delivered the food on board. After addressing, the passengers of the Aryan suite are presented with a selection of champagne, blueberry juice and waterfall or bright water and then you can read the food and drink menu, as well as make a breakfast. You can even indicate if you prefer not to be awake for the breakfast service, which seemed like a good touch.

For dinner, which was used shortly after takeoff, I enjoyed prawns with chili garlic lobster sauce, served with Bok Choy, Shiitake fungus, steamed jasmine rice and pork soup and green marrow. While the soup was not particularly tasty, the prawns were delicious and jasmine rice was very spongy. I opted to combine my dinner selection with the refreshing exclusive cocktail of Cathay Pacific, Cloud Nine (made with vodka, Cointreua, Sprite and lemon juice).
The dessert involved three cheeses (EDAM, Triple cream Brie and Manchego) along with fresh seasonal fruit. I also selected a brilliant Mediterranean white of fruits and citrus, Chateau L’Hospitlet Grand Vin Blanc, of the impressive “Discovery Wines” menu, which shows a collection of less known wines from all over the world.
During the flight, executive class passengers also have the option of ordering from the “All day” menu, and I heard great things about egg soup (with grill pork and add Choy). It was the ideal postnap heating, the snack of half of the flight.
Several hours before landing, the friendly cabin team came to serve breakfast. I enjoyed orange juice, coffee and the “well -being” breakfast option, which included fresh seasonal fruit, warm cakes (these were a bit mediocre) and strawberry yogurt with granola and a delicious berry compote.
How to reserve the Aryan suite of Cathay Pacific de Vancouver to Hong Kong
The cash rates for an executive class ticket of ARIA Suite on the Cathay Pacific route from Vancouver to Hong Kong vary according to the time of the year, the duration of the trip and the demand, but I see return tickets of around $ 3,660 in the next three to four months. To maximize your purchase, consider reserving your flights through a Credit card travel portal or with a Card that wins bonus points in air ticket purchases.
Unfortunately, business class AVAILABILITY OF AWARDS This route is currently non -existent, even through Asia Program thousands of Cathay Pacific. But if you find availability, this is what you can expect to pay for a commercial class prize without Vancouver rowing to Hong Kong when you reserve several popular programs:
- Alaska Airlines mileage plan: From 75,000 miles
- American Airlines Aadvantage: 70,000 miles
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles: From 88,000 miles
- Qantas frequent flyer: 104,500 points for reservations on August 4 or before (125,400 points for reservations on August 5)
- Qatar Airways privileges club: 92,750 Avios
Of course, these rates are only the points, miles or avios that you will need to exchange, so you must also pay taxes and rates on your prize. In addition, keep in mind that you may not find availability through each ONEWORLD Alliance Member, as Cathay cannot share the availability of awards with some or all its partners. So, it is important to have a selection of transferable rewards You can transfer to the program that has awards availability.
Cathay Pacific’s business class availability between Hong Kong and North America has been extremely limited from the Coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, its best option to fly the new ARIA suite can be to reserve a paid ticket or look for the availability of awards on other routes that Cathay Pacific serves with airplanes equipped with Aria Suite (London to Hong Kong and Sydney to Hong Kong).
Finally, to make sure to finish on a plane with the new ARIA suites, verify the flight in which you meet the Cathay Pacific site to see which plane is operating. Not all the 777-300ers of the operator have the suites, but those that do so will be denoted as “77j” at the time on the Cathay Pacific website and will have 45 business class seats on board.
Remember that even if you reserve a 777-300ER flight with the new Suites of Aria, Cathay Pacific could change your type of plane at any time before the exit. Then, consider configuring a Expertflyer (Property of the Matrix company of TPG, Red Ventures) Aircraft change aerton, so any configuration change was notified.
