Airbnb is in a search to make Homeshare’s experience more and more like staying in a hotel.
Now, 17 years after the service “changed the way people travel,” according to the Airbnb CEO, Brian Chesky, the company is launching services similar to hotels. These renewed Airbnb experiences will allow travelers or premises to explore destinations through a fully redesigned Airbnb application.
“With the launch of services and experiences, we are changing travel again,” Chesky said.
Here is a summary of these new services and changes, all available now.
Airbnb services
An important benefit of a hotel is often the ability to quickly access almost anything you want: breakfast in bed, a spa treatment in property or even a fast bursting in the room.
With Airbnb servicesPeople who stay in an Airbnb, as well as people in their own homes, can now reserve those services directly from the Airbnb application, in 10 different categories:
- Chefs: Totally customizable home meals of professional chefs
- Photography: Personalized photo sessions of experienced photographers
- Massage: Restorative massages, including the Swedish, deep tissue and reflexology, of certified therapists
- SPA treatments: facial treatments, microdermabrasion, bodily thickets and other treatments provided by licensed aestheticists
- Personal training: yoga, strength training, HIIT and more with personal trainers that include renowned fitness professionals and world champions athletes
- HAIR: Professional Haircuts, Reventons and more of experienced stylists
- Makeup: makeup for daily or special occasions of professional makeup artists
- NAILS: Manicures and pedicures of experienced nail specialists
- Prepared meals: meals ready to eat prepared by professional chefs
- Catering: full service catering with menus, decoration and custom equipment, in addition to configuration and cleaning
From $ 50 and implementing in 260 cities around the world, the available services are of suppliers that have been examined by Airbnb through their identity verification process and have professional licenses and certifications.

For years, Airbnb Experiences has offered travelers and premises a series of activities to leave and explore, perhaps through a practical cuisine or a photography workshop in a beautiful neighborhood.
Now, Airbnb has reinvented the experience platform and is perfected to make Airbnb experiences “a more authentic way to experience a city,” according to the brand. These reinvented characteristics include:
- Explore Tab: A completely new home page to discover houses in popular destinations, experiences that fit their schedule and services worldwide
- Travel tab: an advanced travel itinerary with a schedule of your trip, details about your home and the services and experiences you have reserved
- Messages: a renewed messaging platform with shared photos and videos and integrated payments to customize services
- Profile: A redesigned Airbnb profile allows you to share where you have traveled on Airbnb and see the people you have met along the way; Airbnb profiles also highlight the more than 200 million guests and hosts worldwide that have completed the brand’s identity verification process
On the host side, new functions will also be available to help administer reserves and lists.

We can all agree that there is a time and a place for an Airbnb, and there is a time and a place for a stay at the hotel. But with these new changes, Airbnb is beginning to blur the lines more and more.
